Seattle Seahawks spent some of their time off the field visiting Seahurst Elementary students the week leading up to winter break. Seahawks mascot Blitz also came along.
At a school assembly, Seahawks defensive lineman Greg Scruggs spoke to students about eating healthy, staying active, working hard in school and being kind to others.
“Whatever it is you want to do, make sure you love it and always give 100 percent,” Scruggs told students. “And remember, everything starts with an education.”
During the assembly, a few students asked Scruggs questions about being a professional football player. Sixth-grade student Seutnik Nhem challenged Scruggs to a friendly push-up competition. Seutnik beat Scruggs, 65 to 50.
After the assembly, Scruggs stayed to play at a special recess for students elected by their peers for demonstrating kindness and respect for all.
